Day 1

Today the students got an overview of camp as well as an introduction to the patch design competition. We are excited for tomorrow!

Day 2

Today students got an introduction to weather, climate, and space weather. Students also built, coded, and tested their robotic rover in a straight line challenge and a maze.

Day 3

Today students built, programmed, and collected data using their weather stations, received a lecture from NASA IV&V Director Greg Blaney, and started working on their rockets.

Day 4

Today students finished building their rockets, worked on their space weather videos, launched their rockets, and took a trip to WVU to visit the geology program and work with satellite data using ArcGIS.

Day 5

Today students flew their weather stations on tethered balloons to collect data. They also finished their space weather videos and presentations. After dinner they received a lecture about a West Virginia rocket team and had an ice cream social.

Day 6

Today students presented their presentations in front of each other and their parents. Students were informed how they can stay involved with Destination SPACE and sang Country Roads after the closeout ceremony.
